Fire Master Power! Pyrus (red) Strategy

Since the TV show, Bakugan Battle Brawlers is revolved around Dan, the fire master, it only makes sense that Pyrus (red)is one of the most popular colors to play. Power is emphasized and very straightforward during gameplay. The basic pyrus strategy should be to simply select three of the best red Bakugan to use. Pyrus Bakugan can give specific bonuses to certain attributes - so if you have the matching card and Bakugan - it would be a good option for strategizing your force.

There are many good strategies and options when choosing your gate cards.

  • Copper: Stand Off prevents opponents that are holding their ability cards till the end to make a surge - by putting a stop to it! Earth, Wind, and Fire played along with the Forest Fire is a great combination to have. You be given extra 100 G-power bonuses along with extra 50 G-power bonuses.
  • Gold: The general strategy is to match card to the class (shape) of your Bakugan. Again, Forest Fire is a wise choice when played wisely - at first it gives a bad bonus to Pyrus during the fight. But it becomes powerful once it goes into the used pile, by giving all your Pyrus Bakugan a G-power bonus for the rest of the game. Be sure to activate this card as early on in the game as possible.
  • Silver: Simple as finding a card that gives a good bonus to your Pyrus and balancing it with low attribute bonuses to other colors. Fire Pit is one of the best choices since it gives one of the best red bonuses while minimizing the other attribute bonuses. Beware of very high pyrus bonuses like Tornado Alley - while it gives 170 G-power bonus to your red Bakugan, it also gives a big bonus to help out opposing Ventus Bakugan.

Strategizing your ability cards:
These are known as situational ability cards, which can are powerful when the circumstances are right. Most of them are only played immediately before or after rolling a Bakugan. Practically all will prove useful – from turning up your chosen opponents’ gate cards, to rerolling your Bakugan, to moving standing Bakugan. For beginners just starting out, just choose one that looks the most fun. Advanced players will want to strategize more carefully to form powerful combinations with the three ability cards. Some cards will enhance strength while some will compensate for weaknesses. Dan’s Throw lets you take back a card that you’ve already used. Runo’s Throw enables you to take one of your Bakugan from your Used Pile to bring him back into the game. This can be very lethal if that specific Bakugan has a high G-power.

  • Red: For the beginner who doesn't have much experience in precise rolling of Bakugan, a reroll card will increase your shooting skills. To use a specific ability card twice, Dan's Throw enables this option which is specifically great for the Pyrus strategy. If you want to focus on obtaining a specific gate card like Earth, Wind and Fire, combining the card Magnetic Action in your arsenal of ability cards is another great strategy.
  • Blue: Most of these cards revolve around having large bonuses which generally is very helpful. Although the higher the bonus, the more specific the requirements to be met. So don't be lured into an attractive super high bonus if the chance of you using it in the game are low or none. Cards that grant high opponents' gate cards are always a plus since you are generally an underdog to win in those battles.
  • Green: There is quite an assortment of possibilities with these green cards. The Pyrus Card reduces a significant difference in G-Power rating and boosts your chance of winning on your own gate card. Help From Friends is an excellent card to combine with Earth, Wind, and Fire. This card will enable you to gain a bonus for the rest of the game after you lose the EWF battle.

These are just suggestions on how to formulate a strategy that will work for you. There are many ways to win and trial-and-error will ultimately give you experience in learning which way works best for your style and your Bakugan.
